Ramses II -The Great (Edgar Sanchez)





                Have you ever wondered who Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II was? Ramses II was a very protective of the Egyptian Empire. To celebrate his victories, Ramses II erected monuments up and down the Nile. His death was mystifying and anonymous. Therefore, in this report you will be enlightened about Ramses II reign over Egypt, his accomplishments, and his death.

              Have you ever wondered what Ramses II’s was like? Ramses ruled the new kingdom during the 12th dynasty for over 65 years. This makes him trustworthy to all Egyptians. This also makes him the second longest ruler in Egyptian history. He was a very protective of the Egyptian Empire. In addition, Ramses helped the Egyptians fight until the won. Ramses II also risked his life for the Egyptian Empire. He was a fair and modest ruler. When the Egyptians were in under attack Ramses helped them fight back. When there houses were destroyed he helped repair them. When they had trouble with crops would help them out as well. He would always stand up for the Egyptian Empire. To sum up, this was a great period in Egyptian history.


Have you ever asked yourself what Egyptian pharaoh built the most temples? The pharaoh Ramses built the most temples in Egyptian history. He built the famous Abu Simbel. They are all gigantic Ramses statues around a temple that honors him. He also accomplished restoring the damaged Sphinx. He had to restore it because it was being destroyed by the wars they had with the Hittites. Now because of his kind actions the Sphinx is back to being a wonder in Egypt. When Ramses II’s father pharaoh Sety I died he built a great funeral temple to honor his father. This temple was stored and kept in the famous Valley of the Kings. It is also one of the biggest temples in Egypt. To sum up, Ramses built the greatest temples in Egyptian history.



Have you ever wondered how Ramses II died? His death was a negative impact to Egypt. First the Hittites overpowered Egypt. Then the Sphinx was destroyed. Some say he died of a disease brought by the Hittites. This left the Egyptians shocked and hungry for revenge. This may also mean that his father died the same way trying to save Egypt from being overpowered. His death was very anonymous and mystifying. All scientists know is that he died in 1213 BC being 90 years old.Though he maybe died being 93 but is still a mystery.
Therefore, Ramses II’s death is still trying to be uncovered even today scientists are still trying to find the cause of Ramses death.

All in all, Ramses II’s rule was a great period in Egyptian history. Ramses accomplished a lot more things than any other pharaoh in Egypt. Lastly his death was a great mystery in Egypt though it left sorrow and pain. In conclusion I learned that Ramses rule was a difficult and it takes a lot of patience to be pharaoh.
